Alberto Burri (Città di Castello 1915 - Nice, 1995) created his own Foundation in 1978 in his native city, donating two prestigious permanent venues: Palazzo Albizzini (which hosts 130 works of his 1948-1989 period) and the ex-Tobacco drying plants (which hosts 128 works produced from 1970-1993). The Burri Foundation takes care of the artist's text and photo archives and his library as well as organizing and participating in shows of global importance through loans and collaborations with other national and international institutions.

Organized by the Fondazione Cassa di risparmio di Pistoia e Pescia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Alberto Burri's birth, the show (curated by Bruno corà) focuses on the friendship between the artist from Città di Castello and Giuliano Gori. The Collection loaned 8 artworks by Burri and contributed to the exhibition catalogue published by Gli Ori, Pistoia.
