Hidetoshi Nagasawa

Hidetoshi Nagasawa was born in 1940 in Tonei Manchuria. Today he lives and works in Milan where he teaches sculpture at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti.
He has participated in many of the most prestigious international exhibitions like the Venice Biennale (1972,1976, 1982, 1988 while in 1993 he held a one-man show in the Italian pavilion) and the Documenta in Kassel (1992).
Among his recent one-man shows we recall here: Villa delle Rose, Bologna (1993); Art Tower Mito, Mito, Japan (1993); Espace Ohara, Tokyo (1995); Ex-Cartiera Latina, Parco Regionale dell'Appia antica, Rome (1998); Fiumara d'arte di Tusa, Messina (2000), Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic (2000); Museo Santa Ugonia, chiesa del Suffragio, Brisighella (2000); Villa Romana, Florence (2001); Palazzo delle Stelline, Milan (2001);  Galleria il Ponte, Florence (2005); Studio G7, Bologna (2007); Galleria Vertigo, Cosenza (2008); Villa Medicea La Magia, Quarrata (2008); Area 24 ArtGallery, Naples (2008); Spirale Arte artecontemporanea, Milan (2008-2009).

His permanent public artworks include, among others, those carried out for the International exhibition center in Tokyo; the Dialysis Center in Pistoia; the Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo and the Fondazione Miró in Palma, Mallorca.
