Anselm Kiefer

Anselm Kiefer was born in Donaueschingen in 1945 and now works and lives between Barjac and Paris.
A world-renowned contemporary master in both painting and sculpture, we recall here only his solo major museum shows after 2000: Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebaek (2001); Fondation Beyeler, Basel (2001) ; Royal Academy, London (2001); Teatro San Carlo, Naples (set and costumes for the production of "Elektra"); Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Naples (2002); Hangar Bicocca, Milan (2002); Villa Medici, Rome (2005); Museum of Modern Art, Fort Worth (2005);  Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao (2007); Grand Palais, Paris (2007); Louvre, Paris (2007); La Triennale di Milano, Milan (2007); White Cube, London (2009); Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation, Venice (2011).

He has received many prestigious rewards of which we recall here only the Carnegie International prize, USA (1988); Praemium Imperiale prize, Japan (1999); Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France (2002); Das Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse des Verdienstordens der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (2006).

Visit the exhibition of selected books-artworks by Anselm Kiefer, a show conceived by the Gori Collection and organized by the Fondazione Jorio Vivarelli in co-production with the City of Pistoia, sponsored by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pistoia e Pescia and in collaboration with the Galleria Lia Rumma Milan/Naples. The show is open during library hours until November 25, 2017.
