Architect Alessandro Mendini, born in Milan in 1931, has dealt with many fields from building and industrial design to the conception of exhibitions. Together with his brother Francesco, also an architect, he opened the Atelier Mendini in their home city in 1989. Among the studio's works of greatest international renown we recall here only: the Alessi factories and the Omegna Forum-museum; the metro stations and the restoration of the City Building in Naples; the Groningen Museum in Holland; the Madsack offices in Hannover.
