George Trakas

George Trakas, born in Quebec in 1944, lives in New York and works on the site of his projects.
His large-scale public works include Le Pont de l'Epée, Le Creux de l'Enfer, Thiers (1988); Ponte in Belmullet, Tirle Saile Symposium, County Mayo, Ireland (1993); Glenn Terrell Friendship Mall, Washington State University, Pullman, Washington (1989-1994);   111 Steps towards Peace, Global Center for Peace, Freedom and Human Rights, Verdun (1995); Curach and Bollard, Minetta Brook, The River Project, Pier 26, Hudson River Park, New York (2000); Hook (Archean Reach), Line (Sea House), Sinker (Mined Swell), Metropolitan Transport Authority, Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Street Subway Station, Brooklyn NY (2004); Water Course, North Cascades Environmental Education Center, Diablo Lake, Skagit (2005); Beacon Point, Minetta Brook, Dia Art Foundation, Scenic Hudson Land Trust, Beacon NY(1999-2007); Waterfront Nature Walkway, Department of Environmental Protection, Newton Creek Water Pollution Control Plant, Brooklyn, New York (1999-2007); Quai des Trois Dents, Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche (2007); River Walkway, Cold Spring, New York (2008).
